What model of steel plates are available?
 
 
Steel plate is one of the four major types of steel (plate, tube, profile, wire). In developed countries, steel plate production accounts for more than 50% of the total steel production. With the development of my country's national economy, steel plate production has gradually increased.
 
Steel plate is a flat steel with a large aspect ratio and large surface area. According to the thickness of the steel plate, it is divided into two specifications: thin plate and thick plate.
 
Thin steel plates are steel plates with a thickness between 0.2-4mm produced by hot rolling or cold rolling. The width of the thin steel plate is between 500-1400mm. According to different purposes, thin steel plates are rolled from billets of different materials. Commonly used materials include plain carbon steel, high-quality carbon steel, alloy structural steel, carbon tool steel, stainless steel, spring steel and silicon steel for electrical purposes. They are mainly used in the automobile industry, aviation industry, enamel industry, electrical industry, machinery industry and other sectors. In addition to delivery directly after rolling, thin steel plates are also pickled, galvanized and tinned.
 
Thick steel plate is a general term for steel plates with a thickness of 4mm or more. In actual work, steel plates with a thickness of less than 20mm are often referred to as medium plates, and steel plates with thicknesses >20mm to 60mm are called thick plates. It is rolled on the special thick plate rolling mill, so it is called special thick plate. The width of the thick steel plate is from 0.6mm-3.0mm. Thick plates are divided into shipbuilding steel plates, bridge steel plates, boiler steel plates, high-pressure vessel steel plates, pattern steel plates, automobile steel plates, armored steel plates, and composite steel plates.
 
A branch of the steel plate is the steel strip, which is actually a very long thin plate with a relatively small width. It is often supplied in coils, also called strip steel. Boiling steel has low carbon content, and because it does not use ferrosilicon for deoxidation, the silicon content in steel is often <0.07%. The outer layer of boiling steel is crystallized in the boiling state, so the surface layer is pure and dense, the surface quality is good, and the processing performance is good. Boiling steel does not have large concentrated shrinkage cavities, uses less deoxidizer, and has low steel cost. The core of boiling steel has many impurities, serious segregation, uneven mechanical properties, more gas content in steel, low toughness, cold brittleness and aging sensitivity, and poor welding performance, so it is not suitable for manufacturing to withstand impact load. 2. Plain carbon steel killed steel plate (GB3274-88)
Common carbon-killed steel plates are steel plates made by hot-rolling ordinary carbon structural steel killed billets. Killed steel is completely deoxidized steel. The molten steel is fully deoxidized with ferromanganese, ferrosilicon and aluminum before the ingot is injected. The molten steel is relatively calm in the ingot mold and does not produce a boiling state, so it is called killed steel.
 
The advantage of killed steel is that the chemical composition is uniform, so the mechanical properties of each part are also uniform, the welding performance and plasticity are good, and the corrosion resistance is strong. But the surface quality is poor, there are concentrated shrinkage holes, and the cost is also high.

9. Steel plate for hull structure (GB712-88)

Steel plates with a thickness less than or equal to 4mm are called thin steel plates. Thin steel plates can be divided into ordinary thin steel plates and high-quality thin steel plates according to their different materials; according to their production and processing methods, they can be divided into two types: hot rolling and cold rolling.
 
(1) Ordinary thin steel plate
Ordinary steel sheet is the abbreviation of ordinary carbon structural steel sheet. The material of ordinary sheet is ordinary carbon structural steel. It is processed by hot and cold rolling.
 
1. Hot rolled ordinary thin steel plate
 Hot-rolled ordinary thin steel plates can be divided into ordinary thin steel plates, pickled thin steel plates, roof panels, oil drum plates, pattern steel plates, shipbuilding steel plates and automotive steel plates according to their different uses.
 
1) Hot rolled ordinary thin steel plate (GB912-89, GB708-88)
Hot-rolled ordinary sheet is commonly called black iron sheet, which is named after the cloud blue-black surface of the steel sheet.
 
(1) Main purpose
Mainly used to manufacture products that do not require high surface quality and do not require deep drawing processing, such as ventilation ducts, mechanical covers, switch boxes, filing cabinets, etc., and are also commonly used as blanks for welded pipes and cold-formed steel. It is widely used in various industrial sectors.
 
(2) Material grade and chemical composition
It meets the requirements of GB700-88 carbon structural steel chemical composition and GB700-79 (technical conditions for ordinary carbon structural steel).
 
(3) Mechanical properties
It meets the requirements of GB700-88 and GB700-79 (technical conditions of ordinary carbon structural steel).
 
(4) Steel plate specifications, dimensions and production units
 The size of the steel plate conforms to the GB709 regulations (after the plate type is attached). Thickness order group pitch: 0.5-0.6, 0.7-0.8, 0.9-1.0, 12-1.25, 1.4-1.5, 1.75-2 and 2.5-4 (mm).
 
Production units: Shougang, Kunming Iron and Steel Company, Tianjin No. 1 Steel Rolling Plant, Shenyang Thin Plate Plant, Changchun Thin Plate Plant, Hankou Thin Plate Plant, Liuzhou Steel Plant, Hangzhou Iron and Steel Plant, Hengyang Steel Rolling Plant, Jiangxi Steel Plant and Nanjing Iron and Steel Plant, etc.
 
 2) Pickling thin steel plate (YB178-65)
Pickled steel sheets are made of low-carbon ordinary steel sheets after annealing and pickling. After annealing and pickling treatment, the surface oxide layer is removed, the surface is bright white, and the stamping performance is also improved to a certain extent. This kind of steel plate is suitable for manufacturing products that require good surface quality, stamping but not high strength requirements.
 
The pickled steel sheet can be divided into two groups according to its surface quality, Ⅰ and Ⅱ; according to its cupping depth, it can be divided into two levels: ordinary (P) and deep drawing (S).
 
(1) Main purpose
Mainly suitable for such as alarm shells, flashlight shells, instrument shells, lamp sockets, automobile brake drums, etc.
 
(2) Steel plate size
The thickness of the steel plate is 0.25-2mm.
Note: The grade, chemical composition and mechanical properties of the steel plate are the same as the previous section (hot rolled ordinary thin steel plate).
 
3) Thin steel plate for oil drum (GB3276-89)
(1) Main purpose
It is specially used to manufacture the barrel, lid and bottom of 200L (liter) oil barrels.
 
(2) Material grade and chemical composition
The material of the oil drum thin steel plate is made of ordinary carbon structural steel 2# and 3# killed steel (in accordance with GB700 regulations) and high-quality carbon structural steel 08 and 10 steel.
