What are the commonly used Joint types for oil casing tube?

In the enquiry faced with the oil casing, in addition to determining the specifications and materials similar to the carbon steel pipe, it should also be noted that the Joint  type of the oil casing. Such as EUE, NUE, LTC, BTC, VAM TOP and other nouns. What is said is the Joint type of the port. There are many types, but the common ones are nothing more than these types. Knowing something in this area is very helpful for the supply of oil casing. This is an important part of the knowledge of petroleum casing products.

1. Common Tubing Joint Type
The commonly used Joint  types of tubing are divided into three types: EU, NU and NewVam. These three types of Joint  can be found in the tool shop. Among them, EU and NU are difficult to distinguish from the appearance of the Joint . They are all triangular Joint  types, but they can be easily distinguished from the entire column. NU means there is no external thickening.

New Vam is actually a trapezoidal Joint  (the Joint  section is rectangular), and it is not thickened outside, so it is also easy to distinguish.
1) EU (External upset) external thickening
EU Joint  is a type of outer thickened tubing Joint . In the process of recognizing the variable Joint  joints on the workshop shelves, three biano logos related to the EU will also be found. Among them, EUE (External Upset End) means the outer thickened end, EUP (External Upset Pin) means the outer thickened male Joint , and EUB (External Upset Box) means the outer thickened female Joint . In addition to using pin and box to represent the male Joint  and female Joint , other means that the male Joint  has 1. external thread 2. male 3. male thread. The female Joint  has 1. female thread 2. internal thread 3. box 4. box thread.

2) NU (Non-upset) has no external thickening
NU indicates that there is no outer thickened tubing joint. In addition to no extra thickening, there is also a difference from EU generally. NU is generally 10 Joint s per inch, EU is generally 8 Joint s per inch. NUE means non-thickened end or non-thickened end. E also means End.

3) New VAM
The characteristic of this type of Joint  is that the Joint  section is basically rectangular, the pitch of the pitch is equal, the taper is not large, and there is no outer thickening. Seen at the end of the production slip sleeve at the workshop.

2. Summary of commonly used Joint types for drill pipes
Drill rod Joint s are generally REG and IF Joint s. Others such as FH are not found in the tool shop. According to the master's experience, REG Joint  and IF Joint  are generally 5 Joint  / in and 4 Joint  / in, but more than 4-1 / 2 "even 4 Joint  / in is REG Joint , that is, more than 4-1 / 2" All are REG Joint s, more than 4-1 / 2 "IF Joints.

1) REG (API Regular Thread) regular Joint type in API standard
The thread used for regular drill pipe joints. This type of thread was used to connect the inner thickened drill rod, forming the inner diameter of the drill rod joint is smaller than the inner diameter of the thickened end of the drill rod, and the inner diameter of the thickened end of the drill rod is smaller than the diameter of the inner diameter of the drill pipe.

REG Joint  and IF Joint  feel different, feel different. The REG Joint  is more delicate and the IF Joint  is rougher, because the density of the Joint  per unit length is different.

2) Internal flat Joint type in IF (API Internal Flush) API standard
The thread used in the inner flat drill pipe joint. This type of thread is used to connect the outer thickened or outer thickened drill pipe to form the inner diameter of the drill pipe joint. The inner diameter of the thickened end of the drill pipe is equal to or close to the inner diameter of the pipe body of the drill pipe.

3) FH (API Full Hole) API standard through-hole Joint type
As the name implies, the piercing eye Joint is as big as an eye. What about that eye? It refers to the inner diameter of the drill pipe joint and the inner diameter of the thickened end of the drill pipe. Instead of the inner diameter of the drill pipe, the two are generally smaller than the inner diameter of the drill pipe.

3. Summary of commonly used Joint types for blind tube screens
1) LTC (Long Thread Connector) long thread connection
The LTC thread has the same shape as the STC thread and can be connected, but it is generally not allowed to connect because they can withstand different maximum torque values.

2) STC (Stub (Short) Thread Connector) short thread connection
Both STC and LTC threads are API standard threads, the difference is only the length of the Joint , the longer is LTC, the shorter is STC, 4-1 / 2 "outer diameter tube, after I measured more than 3 inches The length is generally LTC, and less than 3 inches is STC. This experience needs to be verified, please ask the teacher to let me know.

3) BTC (Buttress Thread Coupling) partial trapezoidal thread coupling
BTC is very different from LTC and STC, and it is very similar to NewVam. The only difference is the outer diameter of the pipe string and the purpose.

4. Commonly used Joint  type
The flushing pipe is a commonly used string for sand control completion, and its main purpose is to be used as a flow channel for filling fluid in the completion section. Therefore, the pipe string basically has no couplings and no thickening, and only the 1.9in punch tube has an outer thickening. The reason should be that the wall of the 1.9in punch pipe is too thin. If the Joint is made without thickening, it will affect the mechanical characteristics of the entire pipe string. Punch Joint s are commonly found in the workshop as Hydrill 511, Hydrill CS and TSWP. 2-7 / 8 "is generally Hydrill 511, 1.9" is generally Hydrill CS, and others such as 4 "are TSWP. Among them, Hydrill CS and TSWP are partial trapezoidal step Joint s, which are difficult to distinguish from the shape, only from the outer diameter.

1) TSWP (BAKER OIL TOOLS WASHPIPE)
2) TSS (BAKER OIL TOOLS SPECIAL)
3) Hydrill 511

5. Sealing stubs commonly used Joint  type
ACME trapezoidal thread
ACME Joint s are mostly used for sealing stubs. The ACME Joint  type features trapezoidal cross-sections (approximately rectangular). The length of the Joint  is short. Usually there is an extended section without a Joint  before the male Joint .

6. Other Joint types
FL-4S Joint type
The FL-4S Joint  is seen in the pressure test plug. The Joint  type is an approximately right-angle trapezoidal section.
LP Joint type
LP Joint  type is found in variable Joint  joints. Usually the Joint  is short, the apex angle is small, and the diameter of the root of the male Joint  is the same as the barrel.
